I want to encourage everyone to see Carrie's blog post on the article "Is Google Making Us Stupid?" by Nicholas Carr. I would say this is required reading for anyone interested in the development of the Web or literacy in the 21st century generally.
Probably the best recognized reply to the Carr article is by Clay Shirky.
